My wife and I are (re) reading through the Bible again and are currently in Exodus; with the chapter today dealing with alot of the ‘law’ laid down in there. Interestingly enough it was talking about being justified when protecting property in killing a thief at nighttime but in the daytime not so much (which strangely enough parallels some unique aspects of Texas law when it comes to using deadly force in protection of property). Anyway it got to the slave section and was talking about conduct regarding slaves. Which broadened the thing up a bit.
Everyone here has ancestors who were both slaves and slavemasters.
And historically whether a person was a slave or not didn’t depend much on their color or race per se. It simply depended on where one was when a particular land was conquered. With a similar analogy that if Texas conquered Arkansas folks from Arkansas could well become slaves of citizens of Texas in those times.
Indeed most all slaves supplied to Western slave traders to the US came from African tribes who’d enslaved other tribes and wanted to sell their newfound wares to someone who’d pay them real money. The practice (at least amongst indigenous peoples there) continues to this day. Albeit with perhaps some more clever wording and slight change of method.
So the concept of Reparations is absolutely insane (and FWIW completely illegal in that it is discriminatory in nature). But it`s a made up division to be exploited by miscreant politicians manipulating virtue-signaling idiots (truly without virtue) to use mob-rule `democracy` to (illegally) divvy up resources and bolster their power base.
While the US did go through a time of racial division, most of that division had disappeared in my early days (and the military was genuinely colorblind when I entered it). The issue morphed into a way to divide and control people (much like the pronoun-speak of the LGBTQetc crap) by generating arbitrary divisions and then dictating a legal and moral code arbitrarily based on their arbitrary divisions. A form of psychological warfare and similar in some ways to a futuristic Stallone movie of which I can’t remember a title. And ‘branding’ people who don’t play along with arbitrary labels placing them into an outcast bin (as well as screwing with their lives by having them cancelled or in the case of Colorado attempting to imprison them). Control the language, control the narrative, control the country.
And the threat is real. I’ve got a middle brother with a VERY bitchy (leftist liberal) wife, as well as a younger one with a granola-left type (but very nice) wife. The latter being brought up about 14 years after me. All well educated.
And due to the educational system and leftist media, their perspectives changed; not really matching reality.
Because I’ve historically been a no bullshit self-reliant person who loves to shoot and carries a gun everywhere (and have a kind of ‘harden up princess and deal with it’ attitude towards life), based on years of manipulation and learned behavior directed towards them during their lifespan, I get ‘binned’ by them into the ultra-right-wing racist redneck category (despite having an advanced degree from a good school).
Even though I’ve done absolutely nothing to warrant being there. Ever. Through words or deeds.
In fact I’m the only one in the family who’s actually married to a colored woman (twice; and among two different asian backgrounds whose cultures kinda hate each other).
But it comes down to communist manipulation and subjugation. Create division, exploit it, and then create an `acceptable` mantra and code of conduct. The incipient stages which we warned about was the PC movement; this later morphed into the insane woke crap that we saw gaining traction during Biden. Thank God we torpedoed it.
The great failing of us is we are generally tolerant people. Live and let live. And get blinded to deliberate efforts to subvert our constitutional republic. Today, this takes its form in contrived ‘racism’ and then expands into the LGBT alphabet soup of gender bending. To further the ultimate lie that a man can be a woman or vice versa. If a public can be forced to accept this lie, it can be forced to accept just about anything else.
If you look at the history of communist regimes, they were adamant about ruthlessly and without question executing ANY edict from their leaders; no matter how trivial or insane. Through all levels of entrenched bureaucracy. There’s a reason for this; much like in pre WWII Japan the leader must be thought of as a god from whom all comes all and to all all allegiance flows. Executing trivial and outlandish rituals is an essential part of this because it psychologically translates to complete obedience. And folks furthering this are very clever.
One of the greatest gifts by God to humanity is that of free will. We are lucky our founders (most of them perhaps not particularly strong of faith and actually being deists) chose to codify that in the Declaration and Bill of Rights. When I hear ‘democracy’ it makes me shudder; democracy is a mob full of manipulates full of ever shifting ideas to force their ever changing perceived will upon others. A confused committee of Karens and Kens from an HOA coming up with crazy ideas for their vision of the neighborhood. Fortunately we didn’t get that. We got a constitution with objective bounds on what a government might either be empowered or be allowed to do. But it’s up to us to keep it.
One of the best things we can do as citizens is actively reject the ‘racism,’ ‘woke,’ or ‘PC’ crap and educate our kids of the threats of this manipulation. Opt out of the paradigm. And encourage others to do so too.
