To our clients in Great Britain

We’ve gotten a flurry of questions from our clients in the UK who are distressed about the censorship of social media and the actual jailing of people for expressing their opinions online. Unlike the US, England doesn’t have a second amendment (which provides the ‘enforcement mechanism’ to preserve the first amendment).

And unfortunately it doesn’t have a first amendment either.

To us, the thought of jailing people for presenting valid concerns and objections over an illegal alien invasion (or any other issue) is repugnant. Orwellian in nature. We believe the Metropolitan Police commissioner — as well as all others involved in this totalitarian purge — should be ashamed of themselves. They belong nowhere near public service. And are NOT enforcing the ‘law’; they are weaponizing it. We believe that good citizens need to rise up against such nastiness; wherever it might happen. Our nations have fought major wars to PRESERVE individual liberty and freedom; we must not let totalitarianism pervade like a cancer from within.

Since most of our clients lean libertarian in nature, they are obvious targets for statist miscreants. They’ve asked our advice and it’s simple: Hold the line and boldly stand up AGAINST these tyrants.

But we think our words can’t possibly be as good as the position taken by one of the greatest British statesmen of all time. When HE and his nation were confronted by evil totalitarianism. When confronted by these supposed governmental miscreants, we are advising our clients to respond in how we envision Winston Churchill would have. To wit, we suggest they respond to these statists in very simple terms:

  1. hmmm….you believe Churchill was some sort of hero? May I suggest reading “Churchill’s War” vol 1 & 2 by David Irving? Or read Churchill’s personal Memoirs?

    1. Thank you; we appreciate the insight and direction and will do.

There’s no question to us that Churchill had many character flaws and made several wrong turns–including some really bad ones early in his career. We don’t necessarily view him as a hero (and reserve that for individuals who’ve made great personal sacrifice under fire) but do view him as the right man at the right time in history for the job of uniting a nation to fight an unspeakable evil without compromise or capitulation. We’d place him more in the category of a 20th Century George Washington without the combat aspect (who also made several major blunders but learned from them), albeit with a greater ego (which we view as a major handicap for any statesman).

And we really like the picture with the Thompson which was Churchill giving a big FU to the Nazis.

Interestingly enough, Abe Lincoln is in a similar category; riddled with personal flaw (and tragedy) as well as having a difficult personal life to deal with. Lincoln would go on to act as CinC but would ‘suspend’ the Constitution when it suited him (which we view as unacceptable). Revered by history, there are also many dark chapters of his presidency using questionable tactics to achieve an end (including jailing reporters and the use of W.T. Sherman to raid and burn the South–an enigma in itself–but one of the few American generals who understood and fought a very successful series of insurgency wars which included his actions during the Civil War).

And the overall premise of a state being required to remain within the union remains unresolved to this day; the Civil War having the long term net effect (when combined with the changes to our Constitution made by communist ‘progressives’ of the early 20th century) of undermining Federalism which is essential to the functioning of our Constitution. Decreasing the authority of the state legislatures which are essential to balancing power between the states and the central government.

FDR falls in a similar category; essentially a communist in domestic policy (his Keynesian economics dramatically worsened the Great Depression) but an effective wartime President. While we’re still dealing with the economic and governmental damage wrought during his tenure as a Depression-era President, he was instrumental in the US ultimate victory during WWII (although like Lincoln he did endorse and enable some pretty egregious constitutional violations of good American citizens during the war).

None of these men were Angels or Heroes. In fact, our Constitution was written by those who realized that men (and women) are NOT angels by their nature and made an attempt to limit the damage a governing body with corrupted people could do. But they were instrumental in victories throughout history.

And we sure could use someone right NOW to help unite ‘free’ nations in the ever-present battle against totalitarianism; wherever it rears its ugly head. We saw the worst of humanity during Covid; one would hope we might learn (and never forget) from those miscreants forcing ineffective masks onto kids, shutting down gatherings and churches, and forcing needles into arms. Now we face the Orwellian thought police. ChiComms rolled into Hong Kong to squash protests against communism and censorship in 2016/7. Now Britain faces the same actions as the ChiComms did but from within their own government. The US isn’t far behind; we hear the drumbeat of marxists wanting to censor ‘misinformation’ as well as truncate ‘hate speech’ under the threat and force of law. This is wholly unacceptable on any level.

Thanks again for your insightful comments !

  2. As soon as a government gets the weapons out of the hands of it citizens the sky is the limit (Unbelievable the CDC might be task with confiscating them). The next step is to pay people to enforce their rule. We saw from the great test of covid 19 you can pay anyone to do anything. Paying a grandson to turn in grandma for have 7 people over for Thanksgiving, the 19 year old girl at the front door of a Walmart ordering 50 year olds to put on a mask. The third step is to allow unrestrained illegal immigration of people that have no desire to possible assimilate for our country. It’s sick and if we have to fight this hard just to keep some scraps of freedom “they” will eventually win. It is hard to watch as Britain falls over this. And of course, a good 50 percent of the people that live in this country don’t see any news here about the downfall of the country we were created from.

    Keep it up!!
