Imagine yourself running for the office of state senator in Texas. It’s a small local race, but you do have some expenditures like posters, advertising, and signs for the yards. One of your friends–who’s also a lawyer–is helping you out as is your significant other and a few other volunteers. You’ve set up a bank account to handle the relatively small (but not zero) campaign costs.
On the way back from the printers, your lawyer-friend hits a Chihuahua. The poor dog had gotten loose and ran out in front of his car–which had ‘elect you’ banners on all the doors. The owner of the dog is irate even through he should know better than letting his dog run about–fortunately the dog is alive but injured. You tell your friend to try to make peace with the owner and offer to pay for his vet bill. This happens, and your friend pays the vet bill with a check from the campaign account. Your lawyer-friend kindly asks the dog owner not to say bad things about you–after all it was his fault the dog was running about and you did pay for the vet bills.
Six years later–having pushed a pro-gun, pro-market, anti-illegal immigrant, and pro-freedom agenda, you’re a Senator from Texas to the US congress. You and your then lawyer-friend have had a bit of a falling out over his having his hand in the till from time to time and he’s gotten himself into some trouble for doing just that. Things seem to be going well, but you HAVE created some political rivals; particularly among the marxists and Soros-funded gangs in states like Illinois, New York, and California.
And you find yourself indicted by a New York Grand Jury.
What ? You’ve not even BEEN to New York in the past 4 years and aren’t even a New York Resident.
The local Soros-backed Manhattan prosecutor–trying to make a name for himself (and getting elected on the platform of convicting you of something or other)– claims that your dog-incident breaks some esoteric New York law and is a misdemeanor. The statute of limitation of this misdemeanor has long expired but he’s figured a way to springboard that. You find this baffling in that he’s a LOCAL district attorney in a different state with completely different laws none of which apply to YOU. And even if they did the statute of limitations has long expired. Moreover, even though you’re constantly being investigated because the Washington swamp doesn’t like pro-freedom folks, the feds had long exonerated you of any potential wrongdoing.
But the prosecutor is relentless. He finds a way to pervert the local law so he can claim the long-expired state law somehow interacts with Federal law and he thinks he can springboard it regardless of the statute of limitations. Goes jury shopping (New Yorkers hate you because you’ve cut their gravy train by reducing Federal spending) and finds a corrupt judge who gave multitudes of cash to the Biden regime who’ll let the case be brought into Federal court in New York (even though your home is nowhere near New York and you’re from a different state — but that BANK that your then lawyer-friend used IS based in New York and that’s part of the basis of their case).
You then find yourself convicted of 34 Felonies because your then lawyer-friend hit a Chihuahua 8 years ago in Texas and you asked him to do the right thing (not really knowing the interworkings of how he did it).
Sound crazy ?
That’s EXACTLY what just happened.
We openly scoff at the parrots who virtuously chant “No Man Is Above The Law” — using this to ‘virtue signal’ that they’ve somehow managed to weaponize some obscure law to spear a political rival. The same individuals have spent most of their life trying to figure out how to be ‘above the law.’ Or are simply ignorant drones rubbernecking at an accident. It’s Stalinesque (find me the man and I’ll find the crime).
Sure, there are very basic laws that need be followed. Don’t murder, don’t steal (‘legal’ stealing is included in this subset when one uses the legal system to get something they don’t really deserve). Don’t bear false witness–most of those are in the original Ten Commandments. And don’t need tens of thousands of pages to figure out.
The basic framework for the Federal Tax code is around 1 million words long. Twice the length of “War and Peace” but perhaps manageable for a citizen to make it through in time. This is ONE set of the code of Federal Regulations.
BUT
If you simply followed this (and became famous) you would likely find yourself ‘Trumped’ by the IRS and in jail, having stuff seized, or both. This is only the BASIC framework for tax law; the specifics are determined by the IRS in further expansion of this framework into policies, direction, and guidance. The guidance from the agency goes on an additional estimated 3 million words, and the policy case law and direction goes on an additional 8 million words (roughly 70,000 pages in total) beyond this. It’s been changed over 5,000 times in the last 20 years. And the guidance often conflicts. As such, anyone could be charged for pretty much anything under the tax code. Most folks simply grab turbo tax, roll the dice, and hope if things go south some lawyer can figure something out. It’s not only impossible for a human to fully comprehend, but also to fully follow in that it’s contradictory and constantly changing.
And this is only one example of millions of federal laws and policies that can affect your day to day life. Do you own and carry a firearm ? Like incandescent light bulbs ? Mow your lawn with a gasoline lawnmower ? Do a favor for a friend like mowing his lawn (without him declaring your time on his taxes) ? Store Gasoline ? Store Ammunition ? Store oil ? Have a propane grill ? Have a propane torch ? Use an old shower head ? Put fertilizer or anti-weed agents on your lawn ? Use bug spray ? Use hair spray ? Fly your own airplane ? Change your own oil ? Use Drain cleaner to unclog a drain ? Drive a car ? Write a check ?
Congratulations — you’re a likely a Federal Felon. And are committing multiple Federal Felonies per day. It’s not like you’re a criminal; it’s just that this behemoth of unmanageable and incomprehensible laws dictating your everyday behavior has fallen into YOU. And we ALL remember the insane mask ‘mandates’ and government trying through force and law to jab needles into our arms.
Any of these laws could be weaponized against YOU for simply living your daily life with good intention of being an honest law abiding citizen. We haven’t even gotten into state or local laws yet–laws which not only can be punished on a local level–but can be springboarded by an unscrupulous prosector and corrupt judge into a Federal Felony in a completely different section of the law.
So YOU get prosecuted while illegal aliens, and BLM city burning mobs go free.
As such, this ‘verdict’ cannot stand; our law becomes meaningless if it does. Any citizen can be targeted for anything; the only criteria is that person being famous or loud enough to piss off the wrong people.
What do we suggest ?
Donald Trump owns property in Florida and is a Florida resident. Our staff STRONGLY suggests Governor DeSantis immediately issue a full pardon for any potential ‘crimes’ committed in this case and provides Florida LE security to back it up. The case was an obvious springboard-local law sprung into state into Federal. So it can be easily ‘undone’ by reversing the process. The 10th Amendment was written for this purpose and gives such authority to Governor DeSantis. We’d also like to suggest Governor Abbott do the same providing safe haven for Mr. Trump in the great state of Texas. It’s time to reign in the marxists attempting to destroy our republic.
