As most of you know, March is “White Straight Dude” Pride month ! While we at D-J are completely colorblind, we do realize some factions of our population have established days, weeks or months to celebrate pride in their given demographic.
So long as they don’t exclude others, or somehow look at this to gain ‘extra’ privileges as a ‘protected’ class–or use it to further divide up America, we don’t see alot of harm in it. It’s basically just an excuse to call a party (which really doesn’t need an excuse). And involve themselves in some form of public buffoonery and sign/banner slinging (virtual, drunken or otherwise).
In any case, the National Association for the Advancement of Caucasian Pride (NAACP) joins other rainbow advocacy groups in sponsoring the celebration of this ALL inclusive event. The kickoff ceremony will be in Zelienople, Pennsylvania on March 1st at 1:00 PM.
And it just so happens our good friend bandleader Richard “Swingin’ Dick” Long and his orchestra will be in the area on the way up to his property in Western PA. We postulate that a kickoff for Straight White Dude Pride Month wouldn’t be complete without “Swingin’ Dick” around so we’ll give a shameless plug for his band here which’ll be commencing it’s rousing concert shortly after the dedication ceremony in Zelienople Park.
So for those of you in the area, come one come all to this gala event and enjoy the festivities with music on the South Shores of the Connoquenessing !
