We can only pray that the Good Lord delivers us from well spoken fools with pens. For such people getting an audience presents a threat greater to our republic than every Communist Army, every terrorist group, and every ‘extremest’ organization combined.
Some of our younger clients were alarmed when they heard that tik-tok might be shut down in the US. And related to us that some of their left-leaning friends were beside themselves with the thought of losing the social media vehicle and the work they’d done.
We had to smile.

Which is itself based in a biblical proverb that when a child I thought as a child; as an adult I need think as an adult.
Unfortunately, a great deal of our political leaders—and their supporters— never get out of the childish hide-from-the-boogeyman-under-the-covers phase. And drag some dupes among the American people with them.
Here at D-J we’ve repeatedly pointed out the folly of gun control and ‘background checks’ (other than being unconstitutional it’s been a complete failure in the US because it simply punishes those who follow rules and keeps the ‘good guys’ from getting the tools to defend themselves against bad guys. Crime riddled democrat run cities illustrate this quite poignantly. The so called ‘assault weapons ban’ under Clinton was a miserable failure. “Gun Free” zones simply create shooting galleries where bad guys feel it less likely they’ll be challenged by a good guy with a gun (and over 93% of all mass shootings occur in some type of ‘gun free’ zone). Rules on paper don’t prevent bad guys from doing harm because by definition bad guys don’t follow the law to begin with.
We’d have thought the adults in the room would have figured this out. Instead, there are those who prey on fear to introduce even more anti-gun legislation further exacerbating crime. And have dupes follow along because they seem authoritarian, wear nice suits, and speak well to an easy ‘solution’ that won’t work.
And now those idiots with pens have invaded Tik-Tok. Depriving many of one of the social media platforms they like. Some left leaning and supporting gun control. We can only say to them ‘welcome to our world.’
China spies on the US and invades its computer code. The US spies on China and invades its computer code. Russia spies on the US and invades its computer code. And vice versa. In fact the US spies on US nationals and invades their cell phones, iPads, and computers. As do some companies. Everyone spies on everyone.

The only way NOT to get electronically spied on is to go back to Mr. Smith-Corona. And pay cash or (maybe) use the mail and write paper checks.
Government intervention to mitigate internet spying (mostly commercial sites that are home country based) has been a miserable failure. Like landlines and the ‘do not call’ list it’s only resulted in a plethora of cookie consent and warning signs that make internet browsing less efficient — much like the TSA. It’s been crap.
The ONLY ways to preserve internet security are for a person to be careful in where he or she treads (and what they say and do) recognize the internet for the ‘wild west’ that it is, and use private browsing and spyware protections to mitigate harm.
If you haven’t yet realized your cell phone is a bug that can listen in to private conversations, record them to download real time or later, and always knows your position and velocity, we feel sorry for you. Our government has been using its own spyware to hack cell phones for years; sometimes with warrant, sometimes not. But that little box you carry with you can hear and track everything you do and know everywhere you go. If you’re crime prone, we’d suggest you throw your iPhone in the nearest lake.
Everyone knows that Tik-Tok is exploited by China as a psychological manipulation tool as well as an information gathering source. Everyone should know by now that Facebook, LinkedIn, and the old twitter (among others) were used in the same capacity during Covid and as a political manipulation tool by the Biden regime. Posts were censored and suppressed, information was deleted as ‘misinformation’ or ‘harmful speech,’ and ideologies were manipulated. Software and staff manipulated how information was directed (and who was suppressed and how) to suit the Biden agenda and curry favor with the regime (and not surprisingly is now trying to curry favor with the new administration). One of our own staff was thrown off a site as a moderator post January 6th because he refused to acknowledge it as an ‘insurrection’ (rather than the overheated frat party it was) and wouldn’t buy into the statist agenda. So the internet is full of agendas. The only way to have the truth come out is to PREVENT censorship of websites — no matter how outrageous they seem.
Which — not surprisingly — is the basis of our own First Amendment.
We at D-J can see some positioning by a nation-state to get a piece of a popular information source in order for that nation to benefit from the economic advantages of doing so. In the same way a government might require an international company to build a factory in the home country—benefiting the local workers in the nation so they get a piece of the action. But aside from this there is no justification for blatant censorship.
Which is what the Tik-Tok ban is. Idiots and miscreants in congress writing a law and trying to force a ban.
Kindly note that the Tik-Tok ‘ban’ was done under the guise of ‘national security.’ Much like the so-called ‘patriot act’ which has done a remarkable job of nailing US nationals for trivial EPA/fish and wildlife violations and carrying/smoking weed (and confiscating pen knives) rather than capturing actual terrorists. In fact, this act conditioned the general public that broadband warrantless searches were somehow OK and opened the psychological concept that if we’re scared enough it’s ok to search anyone — anytime — for whatever reason. Trashing our constitution.
ALL of the worst crimes against humanity have ALWAYS been rooted in the noble cause of ‘national security’ or ‘public safety.’ Without exception.
The solution of course is to INFORM the general public about the nature of Tik-Tok and the potential risks and consequences of using it.
And we gotta ask what’s next ? Do the Feds ban Russia Times online ? Ulysses ? Sky News ? The AP ? Fox News ? Breitbart ? The Drudge Report ? Alex Jones (oh wait — yeah …).
Liberty always has been and always will be dangerous. But would one rather live in an austere meager controlled ‘safe’ and sterile life of government control or dangerous liberty ? Would one rather live in the Nurse Rached safe zone of medications, hospital and Muzak ?
Or would one want to make the most of our one way trip on the planet ? Taking the Roush Mustang up to 140. Seeing the Matterhorn. Climbing Fuji. Taking a deer at 350 yards with a howling wind, a cheap Bushnell 9X scope, and a .270 Winchester to work with ? Eating that bacon laden double cheeseburger that tastes so good ?
One of the greatest gifts our good Lord gives to us is free choice in life. We get to make those ‘dangerous’ choices; we get to learn and live life. We get to win, we get to lose. We get happiness; we get pain. We get joy and hope, we get desperation. We get to enjoy our journey on the planet while we figure out what skills God has given us.
Yet these nanny state miscreants would try to deprive us of life based upon their own personal power seeking agenda and fear. Living far too long in a bubble
We at D-J are certain our clients and those who are savvy will quickly work their way around any of these silly ‘bans’. But we do urge the generations of the future to look at our supposed ‘leaders’ and see what they’ve done. Do you REALLY trust these guys ? Look at what they’ve done. They’ve spent 200k of your money (per person) and that you’ll pay for (if not through direct taxation through inflation). What have you gotten for it ? They arbitrarily ban things and assume you’re too stupid to manage your own life. And internet. Do you really want these people writing more laws ? Would you trust them to tell you what to do ?
Or do you want to get out and live life ?
So we encourage the younger crowd to give them hell and scoff at their laws, fear, and silliness. And may the free internet live on !
