Several of our clients who are in the Albuquerque/Bernalillo county area have sought our counsel regarding the recent so-called ‘ban’ on weapons by the ‘governor’ of New Mexico. Our advice is simple:
Ignore it. Carry anyway.
Just as we would advise them to ignore any of those silly ’gun free’ zone signs. Or any words spewed by a source claiming ‘gun violence’ or ‘common sense’ gun safety (control) laws. Which indicates at best ineptitude but is usually deliberate manipulative propaganda. No gun has ever committed an act of violence and drones using the term should be ignored.
This is consistent with OUR advice to them about posting ‘no weapons’ signs of any kind on their property. Our position on this is clear—don’t do it; they are idiot identifiers. Obviously a criminal intent on committing a violent crime will be ignoring such signs; these types of signs only serve to identify the poster as an idiot or miscreant. In fact, prudent employees, guests, or customers will likely be ignoring such signs as well—carrying concealed and being well prepared. The only possible things such signs can do (other than identifying the poster as an idiot) is to encourage violent criminals to attack their business.
Now it appears the ‘governor’ of New Mexico is attempting to place an idiot sign over the entire city and county. We’d like to attribute this to simple ignorance or incompetence but cannot. It is direct malice BY the governor and a blatant (and deliberately illegal) breach of her duty as a public servant. Obviously she needs to be removed immediately; either by the state legislature (through impeachment), the legal process (through arrest for corruption and violation of the civil rights laws), or ultimately the voters of New Mexico.
The corrupt (and not so honorable) Lujan Grisham chose to declare a public health ’emergency’ and use this as an excuse to erase constitutional rights. Not only is this illegal and unconstitutional (and violates her oath), but also directly goes against both the NM state constitution and US constitution. As if some bureaucratic minion could on a whim declare an emergency-du-jour and erase basic constitutional rights at will. Obviously the legitimate government who framed the constitution chose to enshrine these basic God-Given rights as a restriction on government (not a granting of rights by government) and does not allow this. When the ‘governor’ chose to attempt this she ceased to be the legitimate executive governing person (not having the authority to do so) and became the same as Castro, Mao, or any other despot. Our nation does not tolerate this, and will not tolerate her or her edicts (and as such she NEEDS to be marginalized and punished not only to stop her but also to prevent other would-be despots from mimicking her). She deliberately chose 30 days in an attempt to whitewash her case (knowing that legislative powers kick in after this in a specific NM law) as a rationalization; one which has legitimacy only within her insane mind. Obviously, no man (or woman) can ‘suspend’ the constitution at will. Period.
Wisely, the executive entities of the city, county, and even state have publicly stated they would not enforce this. Erasing any authority she might have (and kudos to those who don’t ‘simply follow (illegal) orders.’).
It’s easy to see that power hungry despots flourished under Covid; most of the nation now sees the Stasi-esque atrocities committed during Covid and has resolved never to do it again. Most of us are horrified at what people did during the ‘lockdowns,’ various mask-insanity directives (making Covid worse) and the force-needles-into-people’s arms strategy. What’s happened in New Mexico is that a situation is being exploited as a trial balloon to see if a despot can get away with eliminating basic rights over an arbitrary declared emergency. Obviously, she’ll be punished and the state and nation will be righted. This will take some time; in the mean time we encourage our clients (and everyone else) to say ‘oh hell no’ and openly scoff at this madness.
Obviously banning guns will exacerbate crime by stripping honest citizens of the tools they require for basic self defense as well as encouraging hoodlums (who might believe their prey unarmed). So everyone knows this will make the horrific crime in the (democrat-run) city worse. Albuquerque has been a haven for gangs migrating across the border; the answer to the crime problem is obvious and has NOTHING to do with guns. These gangs could run amok in their (‘gun-free’) countries of origin; they are now attempting the same thing in the US. Now it seems the ‘governor’ is directly in league with the criminal illegals and criminal gangs; encouraging their migration and giving them a haven to target honest citizens. They get to rape, pillage, and plunder the good citizens of Albuquerque; she gets a perennial ‘problem’ to exacerbate, grand-stand on, and use as an excuse to bolster HER power and line HER pockets. We encourage ALL residents of Albuquerque and Bernalillo county to disregard this ‘order’ and carry firearms EVERYWHERE. You might not be able to personally stop malicious politicians but you CAN ignore them and take care of YOURSELF and family.
We caution our clients not only to scoff at politicians who go mandate-happy, but also to immediately tune out any news sources which fail to actively oppose local, state, or Federal mandates. For such entities are NOT guardians of the republic but rather propaganda sources used by would-be tyrants. Promoting themselves and an agenda without virtue.
