From inputs by our clients, Diatomaceous and I believe it important enough to issue a broadband statement to all concerning the Ukrainian situation. It’s consistent with our previous statement and describes an objective analysis of the situation.
As previously stated, our hearts go out to the Ukrainian people (as well as the Russian people and our other brethren in the Human race). We wish them success and resolution (and do believe providing of arms to indigenous peoples to fight for liberty a worthwhile endeavor much like the framers of the US constitution envisioned the second amendment); however, the ‘cancel culture’ nature of what’s going on has the potential to drive many of the worlds’ economies toward complete destruction as well as create widespread calamity and real 21-st century starvation (as well as the threat of real kinetic nuclear war as things crater).
What’s going to happen ? We don’t think one needs look much past the feckless exploitation of Covid by governments to get an answer. The COVID mandates, lockdowns, shutdowns, directives etc. were a complete debacle. They hurt everyone they touched, destroyed businesses, resulted in rampant inflation, created other horrific health issues and permanent mental scarring, and accomplished nothing OTHER than destruction. We still see people in useless masks on airplanes and in airports which are a direct refection of the absurdity citizens allowed to happen by trusting those who shouldn’t be trusted. Nations went insane and adopted crazy arbitrary procedures which did nothing to aid health and served only to bolster wealth and power of individuals from the political class. Currently, bridles on US energy supply are being enforced under the false narrative of ‘Climate Change’ (subsequently debunked as a complete fabrication in terms of man-made CO2 having any terrestrial effect) — which goes to show the direction and agenda of how various governing agencies propose to deal with the situation. There is no real concern of political leaders in Germany, the United States, other parts of Europe, the UK, etc. toward how they’ve decimated energy production in favor of unreliable so-called ‘green’ energy sources (the ‘secret’ being there IS no ‘green’ form of energy–just forms which may suit a certain purpose). Moreover, many of these leaders have direct financial interests IN energy sectors which benefit from high prices and a reduction in supply — benefiting them and their colleagues personally by transferring wealth from those common citizens suffering high prices and inflation. They also benefit from insider trading on stock deals — again manipulating markets to benefit the few with political power at the expense of the many. Their actions have been completely consistent with being motivated by ‘crony capitalism’ –designed to cash in on the war while the common people in all the worlds nations pay the price.
There ARE no ‘good guys’ in this tragedy. Certainly Putin is an evil thug–but then again Russia WAS provoked prior to the invasion (much like the US was provoked during the Cuban missile crisis). Moreover, there is strong evidence Ukraine abrogated agreements and was involved in chicanery similar to the pre-2010 Georgia situation; parallel to how China behaved with HKG taking it over and abrogating long standing trade agreements. So on the Ukrainian side there is blame too (at least toward initiating the conflict). Russia is apparently fighting using tactics not dissimilar to those during WWII — which involve significant casualties to ‘civilians’ — with the stark (potentially correct) pragmatic realization that there ARE no non-combatants in war (and the US would firebomb Japanese cities with this belief in mind during WWII). Western propaganda sources use these images because total war–involving ALL citizens of a warring nation– has fallen out of vogue; just because this has happened doesn’t mean it’s not practiced or isn’t a legitimate tactic or correct.
So what we see is the Russian propaganda machine indoctrinating Russian citizens with total propaganda while the western propaganda machines act in a similar manner. US sources are anything but objective with widespread he-said, she-said designed to get the US people angry at something they know nothing about (or at least have no idea of how and why the conflict happened). As such, there is an escalating and polarizing force from these false information sources which may well lead to a real and kinetic hot war. It is very unlikely that Russians will displace Putin anymore than the Iraqi people displaced Saddam Hussein. Moreover, Putin and HIS cronies will profit from this situation in a similar manner that western politicians do. But everyone is literally playing with fire. And it is the average citizens OF the western world which will bear the brunt of their irresponsible actions.
Already, we’ve seen fuel prices climb out of control and now food supplies may well become threatened. This is the DIRECT result of the ‘cancel culture’ marxists; those who would bridle supply rather than increase supply to accomplish political objectives. They’re the people taking their SUV entourage to one of their 8 houses and yachting to Davos while preaching austerity to the common man because his consumption of fossil fuels is destroying the planet. Markets fluctuate wildly erasing the hard earned dollars of those saving for future retirement only to be used to line the pockets of the political class when they cash in. Oil companies claim to take the ‘high road’ by rejecting Russian oil and then cash in on this boon of profit margin (providing laundered kickbacks to politicians enabling the process all the while). Other companies refuse to trade with the Russian people (who are not to blame for the crisis) and then enjoy the huge jump in profits to the few within these companies. Gleefully, politicians cut the throat of the working engine within their country to personally benefit from the conflict and amass their personal wealth. All while the propaganda sources within the countries stoke resentments and anger.
During the ‘oil for food’ scam, Saddam Hussein had no problems laundering whatever he wanted across Jordan. The corruption of the United Nations was later exposed for being what it was. Likewise, Putin and his cronies will have NO issues laundering whatever — with China (or even western political leaders) being a willing black market participant. The only thing which will happen is reduction in supply and increase in price; exacerbating an already intolerable inflation situation in the US.
What’s the solution ? Open up the energy taps in the US and worldwide. Burn coal, oil, natgas, drill, build nuclear, etc. Get rid of the bureaucratic encumbrances on production. Hit Putin in the pocketbook by flooding the market with supply. In fact, this is the ONLY thing that will work. But one will likely NOT see political leaders in most western countries allow this because they WANT this conflict to happen in order to profit off of it. And off of the ‘green’ scam.
What do we suggest ? Well, primarily that individuals not get caught up in the rhetoric and not think that halting Russian trade will do anything but cut their own throat. That they understand fully the situation and ignore media sources trying to fan the flames or utilize the bandwagon approach. That they realize corporate entities jumping on the mob situation are essentially doing the same thing they did during the BLM debacles (and buying into a complete lie). AND–much like we saw during Covid–realize that their governing forces will mostly do exactly the WRONG things in this situation and as such be prepared for their governments to collapse their economies (with a select few profiting on the huge loss by citizens). That–when able–they capitalize on tangibles and acquire replacement durables required for living life. That they be prepared for tripling energy costs and understand WHY this is happening–from the direct result of their home nation governments. AND that they demand exploitation OF traditional energy sources within resource-rich nations. It’s going to be a self-imposed crisis of rampant inflation and economic turbulence which has the very real potential to go horrifyingly kinetic when people of nations start starving (again due to self-induced pain) and look for someone to lash out at.
So be prepared for the upcoming storm and understand why it’s happening.
We fully support the help and arming of the Ukrainian peoples but it’s THEIR fight. Given previous Russian debacles in Afghanistan, etc. we’d suggest guerrilla warfare and it’s highly likely this will be effective in holding the nation (much like it has been in OTHER nations who didn’t want an occupying force there; a complete validation of the US second amendment in a way). If there are those feeling a moral obligation, feel free to go there an join them in the fight. But the feckless actions of our government and ‘crony capitalist’ companies–as well as the propaganda media–will only escalate the situation and COULD result in WWIII. Hopefully people will understand what’s going on.
