The D-J Firearms Training Institute

Introducing the Diatomaceous-Johnson Firearms Training Institute ! We offer all forms of instruction for basic, intermediate, and advanced shooters. For those tired of the traditional ‘top down’ forms of training which aren’t tailored to YOUR particular circumstance, capabilities, wants, or needs, we invite you to give D-J a try. Our highly experienced instructors are keenly adept at assessing YOUR capabilities, progression, and desired outcome. We don’t tell what you need; we make some suggestions of equipment and tactics that might work for YOU and YOUR needs, and work around YOU.

D-J offers the full spectrum of equipment and recommendations, basic firearms handling and safety, learning to shoot effectively and safely, and mastering proficiency in using a firearm for self defense, hunting, recreation, and other contingencies. Our syllabus depends on your experience, learning ability, and progression; every course we offer is individually tailored.

Ever have a salesman at a gun counter try to sell you something THEY think you ‘need’ ? Or make recommendations based on cursory observations ? Selling you something that’s easy to carry but very hard to effectively employ ? That isn’t us. Our instructors have the skill, time, and patience to walk you through different options and see what you handle and progress with. And see what equipment fits you for what skills you can master; letting you come to that conclusion after trying different types of equipment and sighting systems. We don’t have any lecturing or high-ego instructors; aside from enforcement of basic safety rules (which are something that will keep YOU safe) of gun handling, our instructors act more as facilitators than anything else. And are adept at going through the role of direction at initial stages for beginners and then progressing through coach then facilitator.

You’ll LOVE their style of training !

(Note: the MAC is only rated for high brass loads/buckshot/slugs for reliable cycling so with low brass loads is good for clearing drills).

(Note: other than in target shooting or demonstration, or potentially shooting at a long range shot during hunting we NEVER advocate cocking the hammer of a DA revolver during any defensive situation. We’re happy to explain why; the video was one to show ultimate accuracy and patterning of the round during a training and demonstration situation).

We anticipate being fully online in a few months so stay tuned !
